How did Oskido’s Career begin?
Oskido, in the early 90s sold boerewors sausage rolls outside the Razzmatazz nightclub in Hillbrow, Johannesburg. He sneaked inside the club to spin the closing sessions and slowing down American house tracks to a tempo that “Africans could dance to”. His career finally kicked off after he volunteered to perform at Razzmatazz when the scheduled DJ failed to turn up.
Later on, Oskido teamed up with producers Don Laka and Christos Katsaitis and together they founded Kalawa Records and released their self-entitled BOP (Brothers Of Peace) compilation in 1993. In 1995 the label later turned into Kalawa Jazmee.
Oskido has been in the music industry for over 26 years and he has reached a prominent status in the South African music industry. He is undoubtedly one of the pioneering artists that popularized the kwaito genre outside of the townships of South Africa.
Wife
Oskido’s first marriage is said to have been with a woman called Sanah. Details of how and where the two got married are pretty sketchy, but reports indicate they got married in 2003 and divorced in 2005.
Afterwards, he began dating Kibi, she moved into Oskido’s home in 2006. Six years later, in 2012, he had announced that he was going to marry her. He made it publicly known then that he was emotionally and mentally ready to commit to a relationship. In 2015 Oskido and Kibi broke up, three years after his announcement.
After the separation from Kibi, Oskido briefly dated Sarah Dlangwana. They broke up with Sarah claiming that Oskido assaulted her. However, he denied this. Currently Oskido is married to Mathapelo.
Children
Oskido has two daughters from his relationship with Kibi and a son from his current wife Mathapelo Khoza. The daughters names are Mandy Mdlongwa and Naledi Mdlongwa and the son’s name is Bass.
Airbnb Apartments
Oskido is not only a super talented musician, he is also a businessman. In March this year, he announced on social media that his Airbnb Apartment was ready for patrons.
