Career
Skhumba Hlophe is an actor, comedian, and radio host. After being cast as Bheki Zulu in Thandeka’s Diary, he got his breakthrough in the film industry.
He landed a role in the series Taxi Rides, as Dlamini. In 2016, he appeared as a guest star in season three of the SABC1 sitcom Ses’Top La. He also made a guest appearance on an episode of Zaziwa on June 30, the same year.
In 2010, he got the invitation to play at Monwabisi Grootboom’s Port Elizabeth comedy show, this was the start of a successful comic career for him.
In 2011 he performed as a featured comedian in the first edition of the Stand Up Zulu festival. Skhumba Hlophe was one of the Young Gunz of Nubreed Comedy at the Soweto Comedy Festival in 2012.
In 2017, Skhumba Hlophe landed a new role as a host on SABC1’s Throwback Thursday, the show was a comedy discussion show that focused on social media’s top stories. On Fridays, he co-hosts the Kaya FM show Good Friday with Ndumiso Ngcobo.
