How To Apply Now for NSFAS Funding 2021

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a South African government student financial aid scheme that is aimed to provide financial aid to poor undergraduate students to help pay for their tertiary education after finishing high school. It is funded by the Department of Higher Education and Training.

Applications are open now for bursaries from the government’s funding scheme, NSFAS for university and TVET College studies in 2021.

As we remember, students demanded free higher education over the last few years and following that, NSFAS now pays all the money for university and college for qualifying students.

Anyone who has received a grant is immediately eligible for a bursary.

What do I need to apply for NSFAS bursary?

You can apply for NSFAS bursaries online.
If that is difficult for you then you can also apply from any public university or college.
Firstly, you need is your SA ID document or your Unabridged Birth Certificate.
You will also then need the ID documents for your parents or guardian.
If your parents/guardian are employed, you need to submit a recent payslip. If they are not working, or are SASSA grant beneficiaries, you don’t need to submit anything. All you need need to do is just specify this on the online application.

So, before accepting your application, NSFAS will check your household income by checking with SARS and credit bureaus.

When you have all the documents you need go to the official NSFAS website. Make sure you are on the official NSFAS website when you apply.
