How did Dumi Mkokstad’s Career start?

Dumi Mkokstad at the age of nine (9) joined his father and siblings to sing at store openings and funerals in his hometowns, Mount Ayliff and Kokstad. During one of his performances, Dumi was discovered by a music promoter, Hamilton Kubashe. Dumi released his first album, Dumi Mkokstad, in 2003 when he was 11 years old.

In 2010, he joined Big Music and became one of South Africa’s best gospel artists. Dumi has worked with other top artists like Jaziel Brothers, Hlengiwe Mhlaa, Bethusile Mcinga, Thinah Zungu and many others.
