After matriculating Msaki enrolled at the University of Mandela, where she wanted to major in Law, however, she quit and later obtained a degree in fine arts at Rhodes University. Afterwards, she attended the University of Leeds in London as an exchange student. Msaki also attended the North Carolina University in the United States, this is where she made the decision to pursue her music career.

Msaki’s Musical Journey

Msaki started her music career in 2008, when she joined an alternative rock band while studying in East London University. She developed her music skills by learning how to play the guitar. Msaki used to sell her music CDs from her car boot, before she was approached by the singing duo, Mafikizolo, to help them in writing a song.

Msaki has performed with artists including Nduduzo Makhathini, Salif Keita, Pops Mohammed, Madala Kunene, Vusi Mahlasela, Angelique Kidjo, Siphokazi Mohapi, Thandiswa Mazwai, the Blk Jks among others.
