Career

Rapulana starred in the SABC3 soapie Isidingo from 1998-2001 and Highjack Stories in 2000. Rapulana was in a film directed by Oliver Schmidt which received an official selection at the Cannes Film Festival in 2001. Rapulana had a lead role in Akin Omotoso’s God is African. He also portrayed the role of John Dube in the Oscar-winning movie Tsotsi.

Rapulana has directed several stage productions including Athol Fugard’s Master Harold and the Boys at the Market Theatre in 1998 and Five Past Two at the Sibikwa Community Theatre in 1996. He had a role on the SABC2 soapie Muvhango as Pheko Mokaena in 2006. In 2007 he featured in the South African film Jerusalema. In 2010 Rapulana was a judge on the SABC1 reality competition television series Class Act. Then he hosted the SABC1 reality game show Ambush.

Recently, in 2020 he joined Mzansi Magic soapie The Queen as Hector Sebata.
