Unathi Nkayi auditioned for the show, Castle Loud which aired on SABC 1. She landed the role and went on to co-produce it too. She then worked with YFM from 2004 -2020, Metro FM from 2014 to 2017 and Kaya FM in 2020.
Alongside Rowan Cloete, Unathi Nkayi was the co-host of the television series, Popstars. In 2011 she scored the opportunity to be one of the judges on Idols South Africa. She has been there through 8 seasons and counting.
Unathi attained international status after voicing a character in the Doc McStuffins series, a hit on the Disney channel. She portrayed the role of Rita the Cheetah. Unathi also hosted the popular show, Show Me Love.
Unathi’s song, “Sghubu” features on the soundtrack for the Oscar-winning South African film, Tsotsi.
